In 2014, we made a huge decision to move our store premises to the lovely market town of Market Harborough. It took us a good 6 to 8 months to find and secure a suitable property, it was an emotional rollercoaster but eventually in November 2014 we had the keys to No. 6 Northampton Road.
Hectic is not a word I use lightly, with only 2-3 weeks to get open before Christmas it was all hands on deck. Electricians, joiners, telephone engineers and me painting, it all came together and we opened the 1st week of December. I hope you like the results, we couldn't have been happier.
Have a walk round with Google maps here.
Most of our shop fittings were all bespoke thanks to the very talented John from J S Joinery. All our shelving, including the beautiful A-frame tthat proudly sits in our window, scaffolding shelving and large pegboard were all made from birch wood ply. Scaffolding poles and fitments came from KeeKlamp, the fitments were sprayed copper to match our lights.
Walls were painted in Pavilion gray by Farrow and Ball.
Centre table was old kiln shelves that we sanded for days and the table legs were painted in Downpipe by Farrow and Ball.
Sorry I am so late writing this post but we have been so busy putting the new store together, keep tuning in to find out how we manage to renovate the first floor. What we use and how we get on doing it, learning as we go along. We need lots of luck.
