From Bretagne to Britain

After an inspiring trip to France I spent endless hours trawling through the internet looking for french linens.  Imagine my joy when I came across a roll of vintage Metis Linen Torchon fabric, (tea towel fabric to you and I, just showing off that I've done a bit of homework!)  This is such a rare find, unused french vintage tea towel fabric known as Metis, meaning mixture is made up of cotton and linen, the cotton threads are the warp and the linen threads are the weft, which makes it extremely tough and durable.
We have turned it into beautiful generous tea towels measuring 54cms x 75cms with hanging loop. The French manage to mix beauty and utility so well and it's what we love here at Housekeeping.
Très belle.
